Canadian Centre for Philanthropy Conference

 

The inaugural conference of the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy cosponsored by the Department of Adult Education, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), will take place November 27 and 28 at OISE, 252 Bloor Street West, Toronto. The theme of the conference is “Philanthropy in the SO’s
-Matching Needs with Resources”.

In addition to attending plenary sessions, delegates are asked to choose one of five separate “tracks” to specialize in during the two days.

Track 1-Major, Capital and Special Campaigns Track 2-Annual and Operating Campaigns Track 3-Bequest and Deferred Funding Programs Track 4-Basic Principles of Fund-Raising Track 5-Issues Facing Charities Delegates (with the exception of Track 5) will also be assigned to discussion groups of 20 delegates or less, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and informa­tion.

Time has been allotted during the conference for delegates to meet with a number of the 20 corporate, foundation and government representatives who will be available for informal roundtable discussions with delegates.

The conference registration fee is $185 and includes lunches and a special dinner on the Thursday evening at the Park Plaza Hotel. A $10 discount will be given for each registration arriving on or before November 17th. Organiza­tions registering two or more delegates are entitled to a $10 discount per delegate. The conference is the successor to the Annual Canadian National Fund-Raising Conference.
