Danny Glenwright
Danny Glenwright is the president and CEO of Save the Children Canada and a director on the board of the Humanitarian Coalition. A journalist by training, he has more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit and media sectors in Canada and internationally – and his work has taken him to more than 80 countries. This includes a stint as managing editor of the Gender Links news service in South Africa, a role with the United Nations in Palestine, and media training experience in Sierra Leone, Namibia, and Rwanda. He was also previously the executive director of Action Against Hunger Canada, the managing editor of Xtra newspaper and The Philanthropist Journal, and the executive director of Journalists for Human Rights. Danny holds a master’s degree in international development and cooperation from Italy’s Pavia University and a bachelor of arts in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. He has written extensively about 2SLGBTQIA+ and gender issues, media literacy, and international development, and he lives in Toronto with his husband.
