Alyssa Becker

Alyssa Becker is manager of special projects at Community Foundations of Canada and has spent the last five years supporting the network through federal granting initiatives, pilot programs, community gatherings, and national conferences. She is deeply passionate about belonging and committed to finding ways to promote community well-being and resilience.

Alyssa comes from a diverse background, with experience in the charitable sector, hospitality, and the arts. She is a graduate of music theatre performance at Sheridan College and French culinary arts at George Brown Polytechnic in Toronto.

Alyssa worked for more than a decade as the executive chef at Wasan Island,  an international conference centre located in Muskoka, Ontario. Here, she had the deep honour to cook for people from all over the world and has experienced firsthand how food can be a superpower to spark joy and curiosity, and to transport and transform people.
